Privacy Policy

EditFrame is a small editorial publication, not a data broker. We review AI photo editors, video editors and related tools, and we collect only the minimum information needed to run the site and answer reader mail. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what rights you have over it.
Who we are
EditFrame is published by EditFrame Media OÜ, a company registered in Estonia (registry code 16893421) with its office at Tartu mnt 25, 10117 Tallinn, Estonia. EditFrame Media OÜ is the data controller for the personal data processed through this website. What data we collect
We collect three categories of information, and nothing else.
Contact form submissions. If you write to us through the contact form, we receive your name, your email address, an optional subject line and the message you typed. We use this only to read and reply to your message. We do not add you to a newsletter, because we do not run one.
Server logs. Like almost every website, our hosting provider records standard technical logs when your browser requests a page. These logs include your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested, the referring page if any, and your browser's user agent string. We use these logs to keep the site secure, to diagnose errors and to understand aggregate traffic patterns, for example which reviews get read most.
Consent preference. When you first visit the site, a consent banner asks about your cookie preferences. Your choice is stored in a single cookie named cams_consent so the banner does not reappear on every page load. This cookie stores a preference value, not an identity, and it is described in the Cookies section below.
We do not use analytics trackers, advertising pixels, fingerprinting scripts or social media embeds that phone home. Nothing you do on this site is profiled for advertising.
Why we process this data
Each category has a specific purpose and a legal basis under the GDPR.
Contact form data is processed to respond to your inquiry, which we treat as a legitimate interest and, where your message leads to a working relationship, as a pre-contractual step. Server logs are processed under our legitimate interest in operating a secure, reliable website. The consent cookie is set because EU law requires us to record whether you accepted or declined optional storage, and remembering that choice is itself a legal obligation.
We do not sell personal data, rent it, or share it with advertisers. We do not use your contact details for marketing unless you explicitly ask us to keep you informed about something specific.
Third parties
Our website is hosted by a hosting provider whose servers process the technical logs described above. That provider acts as a data processor under a written agreement and may not use the logs for its own purposes. If you email us, your message is stored by our email provider, also under a processing agreement. Beyond these two service providers, no third party receives personal data from this site unless a law or a competent authority requires it.
How long we keep data
We apply fixed retention periods and delete or anonymize data when they expire.
Contact form messages and related email threads are kept for 24 months after our last exchange, so we have context if you write again about the same review or correction. Server logs are kept for 90 days and then deleted. The cams_consent cookie expires after 6 months, at which point the banner will ask again. Backups that may contain residual data rotate out within 30 days of the primary deletion.
Your rights under the GDPR
Because we are established in Estonia, the General Data Protection Regulation applies to our processing, and it gives you the following rights regardless of where you live.
You have the right of access: you can ask us what personal data we hold about you and receive a copy. You have the right to rectification: if something we hold is wrong, we will correct it. You have the right to erasure: you can ask us to delete your data, and we will, unless a legal obligation requires us to keep it. You have the right to data portability: for data you provided to us, you can ask for it in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format. You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and the right to restriction of processing while a dispute about accuracy or lawfulness is resolved.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@christianamateurmeteorsociety.com. We answer within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon) or with your own local supervisory authority.
Your rights under the CCPA
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, gives you additional rights. You have the right to know what personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the purposes and the categories of third parties involved. You have the right to request deletion of your personal information and the right to correct inaccurate information. You have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, though this is straightforward in our case: we do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
California residents can submit requests to privacy@christianamateurmeteorsociety.com. We will verify your request by matching the email address you write from against our records before disclosing or deleting anything.
Cookies
This site sets exactly one cookie: cams_consent, which remembers the choice you made on the consent banner for 6 months. We use no analytics cookies, no functional cookies beyond that preference, and no marketing cookies of any kind. The full breakdown, including duration and purpose, is in our Cookie Policy, and the banner itself lets you decline everything optional. Your browser settings can also block or delete cookies entirely; the site remains fully readable without them.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and revise the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged in the first paragraph for at least 30 days after they take effect.
